LibreOffice online installation
After testing onlyoffice thoroughly it seems problematic to use it in productivity. Especially this pending PR is problematic:
The docker restart procedure of onlyoffice is prone to data loss:
The community of libreoffice online (lool) is large compared to onlyoffice.
Collabora, one major driving force behind the development of lool released one popular distribution called CODE (COllabora Development Edition) which is quite stable, but limited:
There are solutions to build libreoffice without docker:
- https://github.com/husisusi/officeonlin-install.sh
There are also images of dark origin on dockerhub for unlimited lool:
But it shouldn't be that difficult to adjust the official dockerfile from master to a (hopefully) more stable 5.4:
- https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/online/tree/docker
But there are warnings that this is quite an time consuming endeavor. Do we have a machine in the ecobytes ecosystem I could use for that?
