Get out of gitbook?
Or at least get out of the cycle of updating content in gitlab and then exporting back to github and from there to gitbook.
Too many dependencies, too many points of failure, and too tedious and slow. For example, Lynn corrected some errors yesterday and they still have not appeared in the gitbook page they were fixing.
Possible exits:
- Try editing content directly in Gitbook. Looks from here https://docs.gitbook.com/editing-content/editing-pages that it should be possible to do so. That would shortcut the dependencies on the gitlab->github->gitbook cycle.
- Does anybody have any experience or know anything about that? @ahdinosaur ?
- Move to a simple static website that we can edit directly.
- Sub-problem: current content is in markdown, so will either need to be converted to HTML or hosted in some other environment that auto-converts markdown to HTML.
